Is blazing fast - pages are generated in milliseconds
Offers simple Markdown syntax - perfect for blog content
Markdown files are ideal for agentic development - can be easily read and edited by AI agents
Has a theming system - allows easy customizations
Themes as Git submodules - can be cleanly integrated and maintained as separate Git submodules
Provides multilingual support - ideal for my German/English website
Requires no database - everything is static files
Has significantly less maintenance overhead than JavaScript-based websites - no constant updates of JS/TypeScript dependencies needed

What is Typst?

Typst

is a markup language (description of document layout in code), which also supports styling, scripting and context
a compiler that converts markup input into output formats
A service (you can use it, you don’t have to use it), which offers functions for organizations.

Why should I use Typst?
#

Typst is simple
#

So far, the only real professional alternative to Typst was the markup language LaTeX, which was a real option. Pandoc is a LaTeX compiler often used under the Linux operating system (converts LaTeX-based input data into output formats). Using the two compilers, the properties can be compared in a practical way. Typst is much easier to learn and use compared to LaTeX. I wrote my master’s thesis in 2012 with LaTeX. If I had had a simpler alternative back then, I would have saved a lot of time and nerves.

What is Podman?

Podman is an open-source tool for managing containers and pods. It was developed to provide a secure and simple alternative to Docker. Podman is daemonless, which means it does not require any background processes to manage containers. This makes it more secure and resource-efficient.

Podman is part of the Red Hat ecosystem and is supported by the Open Container Initiative (OCI). It is compatible with Docker and can use many Docker commands directly.

What Are Proteins?

Proteins (also known as “proteins” from the Greek “proteos”, meaning “first place”) are structural building blocks made of amino acids that are found in every cell from hair to muscles and the brain.

Why Should We Consume Proteins?
#

They are primarily important for maintaining muscle mass, muscle growth, and muscle repair processes. But not only that: they are the structures of our organs, such as the heart. They are also building blocks of enzymes. Some of our most important metabolic hormones (“peptide hormones”) are also made of amino acids, including hormones like insulin, glucagon, and the insulin-like growth factor IGF-1. Since the body can only produce non-essential amino acids, but we also need essential amino acids, we must obtain these through our diet. It is important that we eat proteins that contain all nine essential amino acids (histidine, phenylalanine, isoleucine, lysine, valine, methionine, leucine, threonine, tryptophan).
